The CARA Fund was originally created to fill a large void in cocker spaniel rescue.  Each year many of our fur-coated friends end up left behind at shelters because cocker spaniel rescue groups cannot afford the medical bills facing them if they take them in.  So otherwise loving, needy dogs face a grim fate.  While a wonderful network of rescues exists to help take these dogs in, there is little help available to the rescues themselves.  And so CARA was born.

Our mission is to provide grants to help cocker spaniel rescue groups pay their veterinary bills for special needs dogs.  We also opened our arms and our hearts when Hurricane Katrina hit.

Mission

CARA will will assist Cocker Spaniel rescue organizations with medical care and other extraordinary expenses through financial grants to the rescue.

Goals

Money will be raised through fundraising activities.  Grants will be awarded to individual rescues as approved by the directors.
