CARA's Little Star

Reese

Submitted by: Joni Leviner

Story: Reese is my third Cocker and my first rescue from ARF. He is chocolate and tan and thus looks like a Reese cup. Reese is without a doubt the sweetest dog I have ever had. He has never met anyone he didn't like and loves to give kisses. My boyfriend and I drove up to meet him in Charlotte and fell in love. Reese is a little nervous fellow and from the first night that I brought him home, he has never left my side. I made him a nice place to sleep in the kitchen before bed that night and just about the time I fell asleep, he started crying (whaling) really. I thought he was hurting. I think that he had been through so much in his eight months of life and was in a new, strange place. I went to see about him and he looked up at me. I scooped him up, blanket and all and off to bed we went, where he has been for the last three years. I believe that he loves us very much and the feeling is mutual. Reese developed seizures within a year of adoption. At this point they are not severe nor often enough to have effected his quality of life. He knows when he is about to have one and always tries to come to me and tell me that something is wrong. We work through them and move on. I guess I saved him once and he expects me to be there everytime he needs help and I try to make sure that I am. I love him dearly, my sweet chocolate boy.
